Club Information & Philosophy

Mission:
The mission of the United 1996 Futbol Club to provide youth with the opportunity to develop soccer skills and to play soccer, with quality coaching, in a positive environment that promotes good sportsmanship, personal integrity, and self discipline.

United 96 F.C. was formed in 1996 and is affiliated with the KYSA, the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association. The United competitive teams are members of the Kentucky Select Soccer League.

Since its formation in 1996, United 96 F.C. has grown from two teams to over twenty teams. The teams have proven to be very successful and consistently win out-of-state tournaments and place in State Cup competition.

"As soccer in the United States continues to prosper, so does the need to teach players the proper skills. United 96 F.C. features a coaching staff drawn from college and professional coaching staffs from the United States and around the world. Our coaching staff has played and coached at the highest college and professional levels.

Our staff features Said Fazlagic, who played for the MLS team D.C. United and in six international matches for his home country of Bosnia during 1996. Many of our coaches are qualified through the USSF.

Through our organization, we wil offer two of the most important variables to learning this sport.

First, we will provide the participants with the opportunity to observe firsthand professional soccer players and their standard of play.

Second, our staff will allow us to use our skills in teaching and developing youth players of highest quality."

Club Philosophy and Expectations

The philosophy of the United 96 F.C. is solely focused on developing young players to the best of their abilities.

Players must bring a ball, shin guards, water, and a serious attitude to learn and train hard to each and every practice.

Practices are MANDATORY.  Please do not expect to play -- unless you each attend each scheduled practice with your team or a substituted practice.

Players must realize that this is not recreational soccer.  Our training is among the highest level of elite and developmental training anywhere in the country.

Players must always reflect respect for all authority figures, including coaches, trainers, referees, administrators, and, above all, parents.

All coaching and player allocation decisions (team assignments) are made solely by the professional coaching staff of the club.

Parents must stay away from the players' bench area under all conditions.

Parents are implored NOT to coach during the match from anywhere at the field. Parents are spectators – they're there to enjoy the matches.

Parents must conduct themselves properly at all times when players from the club are involved. The club and the coaches will not tolerate embarrassments and indiscretions at games and tournaments.
